ZTE, BT to Co-Develop DAB-IP Enabled WCDMA Mobile Phones

ZTE, a leading Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer, announced on September 14 that it has inked an agreement with BT (British Telecom). Under the deal, ZTE and BT will co-develop WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) mobile phones supporting the DAB-IP (Digital Audio Broadcasting — Internet Protocol) mobile TV standard. Release of the mobile phones is slated for 2007.
